TENT FEATURES
Many Tents have different properties to make them better out in the environment.
HYDROSTATIC HEAD - The British standard for any fabric to be classed as fully waterproof is 1500mm. The hydrostatic head is tested by placing 1cm squared of water over the fabric and adjusting the height of the column to obtain the rating. The ratings change throughout the brands but be sure to check the rating before you buy a tent and be sure its over 1500mm. FIRE RETARDENT - Not totally fire proof but if it does catch fire it will burn slowly and probably snuff itself out.
SPF 50+UV - The sun protection factor or how much the tent will hold back.
SEWN-IN GROUNDSHEET - The ground sheet is sewn to the tent instead of being detachable, having the groundsheet sewn-in prevents drafts seeping through and stops bugs finding their way into your tent. POLYCOTTON OUTER - This flysheet helps to keep you warm when its cold and cold when its warm and its also more durable than polyester.
