If youre approaching the walk by metro then Id recommend commencing at either London Bridge or Borough stations.
Arriving out of either of those pass North tll you come to the river.
Why not take off your tour by venturing out onto London Bridge itself? Although it doesnt have the beauty of some of the alternative bridges
it does give a cracking place to take photographs of Tower Bridge as well as The Tower of London on the North Bank of the Thames.
Then maneuvering west along the river once again you shouldnt overlook a peruse around Borough Market - a tangible
treat for all the gastronomes out there who require divine guidance or just something unique to bite on.
The market place specialises in produce from modest parties and producers from around the UK - but it also is
a terrific place to obtain olives from Greeece, cheese from France, Ostrich from South Africa, chillies from Brazil - the number is inexhaustible.
Its a marvelous place to find a sandwich for later on in your walk besides.
Keeping along back to the river you’ll take in some of the optimum prospects of the river from here - with the City of London
offering its fullest winning face, including the Lloyds Building, the Gherkin,St Pauls, the Barbican etc etc.
There are a host of affordable eating places along the river walk at this point - pizza, Greek, up market burger shops too - so
if youre in the market for a mid-price lunch as a treat this is a good place to choose, and you can savor the river panoramas at the same time.
Many of the restaurant on here are in the larger restaurant groups and so its worth visiting out their internet sites
for price reduction coupons and exceptional offers - try Pizza Express, The Real Greek, the Gourmet Burger Kitchen for instance.
Staying along the Thames Path then you’ll soon reach the rebuilt Globe Theatre on your left and its worth coming by and looking out for
the special offers. They do marvellous standing tickets for the evening performances and given the architecture and
aura of the theatre at around £5 it makes for a wonderful night’s entertainment even if plays arent your regular thing.
Continuiung our amble along the SOuth Bank, arriving at the Millenium Bridge you’re faced with a pair of alternatives.
Simply walking out onto the bridge, once again, gives some great photograph chances, but it also allows you to deviate through to St Pauls Cathedral and see
Christopher Wren’s masterpiece.
Returning to the Southside there’s more free culture available in the form of the Tate Modern - which always has
a central exhibit in the main hall which generally delights even the most disinterested art viewer.
Just the above should fill at least three hours of your afternoon, but if youre still keen to hit the pavement further then stay along the river to the South Bank
complex - go into the Royal Festival Hall, up to the 6th floor balcony and enjoy some of the best views of London. Dont forget to take your camera with you
and this is an afternoon when the budget wont be hit disadvantageously at all!.
