A friend of mine was complaining the other day about some of the problems she was encountering preparing for an upcoming business trip.  She’s heading for a country that she’s never been to before, so aside from the fact that she needs to be prepared for the activity awaiting her at her destination, she’s also had to work on her documents and requirements, for the trip itself.  That’s not the kind of stuff that she likes to do.  Normally, she’d just find a way to delegate these tasks, but for some reason she ended up having to do most of them herself.She found herself rather annoyed by the whole visa application process.  I guess she’s used to situations where she’s able to travel without having to get one, so the application to go to this one particular country was rather new and unfamiliar to her.  She did a lot of research on line for this, and she also asked other colleagues about their own experiences.  Unfortunately, she wasn’t able to get as much information as she liked, so she felt unprepared, which is one thing that really annoys her.She was also having issues with her passport, it seems.  I asked her if she tried to just take care of her passport application on line, but from her response I guess that that wasn’t really what she was having a problem with.  It always amuses me to see her get so flustered.  Usually, she’s really calm and composed, even when things are going crazy over in the office, so it was an interesting surprise to find her not at all her usual self.  I felt a little sorry for her actually, and I would have offered to help, but she’s not usually the type to accept favours, since she’s fiercely independent.
